Dedication Ceremony for the Soldiers of the War of 1812

This page is about the ceremonies that took place on October 13, 2007 at Cuzzort and Marengo cemeteries.  These ceremonies were presented by "Jonathan Jennings Chapter, Indiana Society United States Daughters of 1812" and "Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society."  The Cuzzort ceremony took place first at 1:00pm EST and the Marengo ceremony took place at 2:30pm EST.  Each ceremony honored the soldiers buried in that particular ceremony except the Marengo ceremony also included other soldiers that are buried in various other cemeteries in Crawford County.  Here is a list of the men honored in these ceremonies:

John Brock

Nicholas Cosby

Isaiah Cuzzort

Ninian Haskins

William Baker Johnson

David Jones

John Morgan

William Prewitt

James Suddarth

Martin Henry Tucker

On this page, I have presented photos from each event as well as a full video presentation of the ceremonies.  These video clips are "raw" so you will see the ceremony as presented and unedited.  The audio on the Cuzzort video is pretty low due to the lack of a sound amplifier system, so you will need to turn up the volume on your computer.  Due to the length of each ceremony, I have encoded the videos at a very low bitrate.  I do this to keep the file size down and because most people around here are still on dialup (as am I!).
