Through the efforts of CCHGS volunteers, older court records are open for public research. These archives are currently housed in the former courthouse on Court Street in English, IN. 
Hours are noted below. Winter hours are by appointment only.

At The Archives:
Marriage Records, Probate Records, and Miscellaneous Records are located at the Archives on Court Street. 
Copy machine available, $1.00 per page fee.
There is no telephone service at the Archives.

Records available from the current county officials, not the CCHGS volunteers:

Recent Marriage Records (Clerk’s Office: 812-338-2562) are at the new Court House located behind the Dollar
General Store on state highway 64.  Deed Records (Recorder’s Office: 812-338-2615) are at the new
Court House located behind the Dollar General Store on state highway 64.
Birth Records from 1882 and Death Records from 1899 are at the
County Health Department (812-338-2302) located across from the Crawford County Public Library.
