1957 joined U S Naval Reserve, Louisville, KY; Basic Training NTC Bainbridge, MD; 1957 entered US Air Force Lackland AFB basic; Kesseler AFB for ACW Data Processing school.  After leaving the Air Force, Clarence re-entered the military as an E-5 Data Processing Tech in the US Navy Reserve. Moved to Spencer, Indiana, transferred to Indiana National Guard, served as a Driver/Launch RTO for an Honest Jon Rocket Artillery Battery. Due to a Civilian job change he departed the ING but re-entered 2-150 FA Bn, Battery A at Greencastle, IN in 1975. Transferred to 38th Div. Artillery as Intel NCO. Warrant Officer, Artillery Radar- 138th Signal Bn. 38th Infantry Div. Anderson, IN C & E. Chief. Transferred to Inactive Reserve in 1986.  Retired Aug. 1, 1999. Numerous awards and honors. Served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 1950-1952.  He was stationed in Louisiana and Germany.  Drafted Nov. 22, 1950 at Indianapolis, IN.  Basic training at Camp Breckenridge.  Then sent to Camp Rucker in Alabama.  Then to Camp Polk, Louisiana.  Served 1 year there then boarded a shop in January in New Orleans to Germany.  Arrived in Germany in January, docked at Bremerhaven, Germany.  He was stationed about 30 miles from Stuttgart. Spent about 8 months in Germany. Left Germany for U. S. and docked at Staten Island in Sept.  From there by plane to Ft. Custer, Michigan.  Arrived home on Nov. 14, 1952.  His pay was $33.00 per month.  On the way to Germany his ship made a stop in Puerto Rico.

Smith, (Rev) Lewis Glenn
He is the brother of Ernest Smith. He enlisted in the U S. Army in WWII as a Private.  HE served in the Philippines and was shot in the neck.  The Shrapnel exploded in his neck and he still has pieces of it in his neck to this day.  According to his daughter, Mary Ann, it is too close to the spine for removal. He received the Purple Heart.  He was born and raised in the Mifflin, West Fork area of Crawford County.  He is the founding Pastor of Victory Chapel Church in Frankfort, Indiana and has pastored there for over 50 years.
