Cummings, Harry "Punkin"
Harry was a Pvt. in Co. C. 6th Armored Infantry; 1st Armored
Division-Group called "Old Ironsides" He entered service on Oct. 3, 1943 and
was discharged on May 5, 1945. He served in Italy at Anzio. He was shot in the
leg, 60 miles North of Rome, Italy and was in the hospitals at Rome and Naples.
Harry spent 11 months in rehabilitation. His basic training was at Camp
Wheeler, Macon, Georgia. He is a member of American Legion at Alton, Indiana
and a lifetime member of the VFW in English, Indiana and the DAV in Cincinnati,
Ohio.

Dillman, Clarence Artie
1957 joined U S Naval Reserve, Louisville, KY; Basic Training NTC
Bainbridge, MD; 1957 entered US Air Force Lackland AFB basic; Kesseler AFB for
ACW Data Processing school. After leaving the Air Force, Clarence
re-entered the military as an E-5 Data Processing Tech in the US Navy Reserve.
Moved to Spencer, Indiana, transferred to Indiana National Guard, served as a
Driver/Launch RTO for an Honest Jon Rocket Artillery Battery. Due to a Civilian
job change he departed the ING but re-entered 2-150 FA Bn, Battery A at
Greencastle, IN in 1975. Transferred to 38th Div. Artillery as Intel NCO.
Warrant Officer, Artillery Radar- 138th Signal Bn. 38th Infantry Div. Anderson,
IN C & E. Chief. Transferred to Inactive Reserve in 1986. Retired Aug. 1,

WWII - S/Sgt assigned to a tank in the 737th Tank Battalion.
His tank was destroyed in Lorraine, France with the crew listed as MIA. He
was posthumously awarded the purple heart.

Smith, Ernest
Served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 1950-1952. He was stationed in
Louisiana and Germany. Drafted Nov. 22, 1950 at Indianapolis, IN. Basic
training at Camp Breckenridge. Then sent to Camp Rucker in Alabama. Then to
Camp Polk, Louisiana. Served 1 year there then boarded a shop in January in New
Orleans to Germany. Arrived in Germany in January, docked at Bremerhaven,
Germany. He was stationed about 30 miles from Stuttgart. Spent about 8 months
in Germany. Left Germany for U. S. and docked at Staten Island in Sept. From
there by plane to Ft. Custer, Michigan. Arrived home on Nov. 14, 1952. His pay
was $33.00 per month. On the way to Germany his ship made a stop in Puerto
Rico.

Smith, (Rev) Lewis Glenn
He is the brother of Ernest Smith. He enlisted in the U S. Army in WWII as a
Private. HE served in the Philippines and was shot in the neck. The Shrapnel
exploded in his neck and he still has pieces of it in his neck to this day.
According to his daughter, Mary Ann, it is too close to the spine for removal.
He received the Purple Heart. He was born and raised in the Mifflin, West
Fork area of Crawford County. He is the founding Pastor of Victory Chapel
Church in Frankfort, Indiana and has pastored there for over 50 years.
Starr, Ralph G.
Staff Sergeant Ralph G. Starr US Army Air Force. Entered service on
23 December 1942 at Louisville, Kentucky. Served with the 15th Air
Force,456th Bomb Group,744th Bombardment Squadron [Heavy]. Was a radio operator
on B-24H serial number 42-94752"Sleepy Time Gal". Was killed on 23 May 1944 at
11:45 in a mid-air collision near the home base at Stornara, Italy on a return
from a bomb run.

Thomas (Toby), Catherine
I joined the Army in March of 1969. I served two years and nine months. I
should have been in for three years, but at the time
they were offering a three month "early out" and I decided to take
it. I went in as a private and earned my Spec. 5 stripe when I
was discharged. I took Basic Training as Ft. McClellan, Alabama;
AIT at Ft. Gordon, Ga. in Communications: assigned to Ft.
Meade, Md. Also spent two months at Ft. Myers, Va. working
as a Clerk Typist.

Toby, Brad
entered the Army on June 15th 1987 as a helicopter mechanic stationed
at Ft.Drum NY for 5yrs. Reenlisted and became a MP. He went to Korea for 1yr and
was stationed at Ft.Campbell for approx.18months. left active duty on Nov.24
1994. entered the reserves after active duty and went to school and was a
carpentry masonry specialist for 6 years. discharged from the reserves in 2000.
He was an E-5 Sgt.total military time 13 years. Award and ribbons: Army
